Jaguar depreciates faster than almost any luxury brand - a 4-5 year old F-PACE typically trades at 45-55% of its original MSRP. The XF sedan drops even steeper, often losing 50-60% in the same period. That makes used Jaguars some of the most car-for-the-money on 828 lots. The F-PACE is the practical pick (SUV, 5-seat, available AWD). The F-TYPE is the fun one - a two-seat sports car with a supercharged V6 or V8 that holds value better than the rest of the Jaguar lineup.
The depreciation is partly because of Jaguar's reliability reputation and partly because fewer shops work on them. Before buying, find an independent British car specialist or Land Rover/Jaguar mechanic in the Western North Carolina - they exist, and their rates are 30-50% less than the dealer. The 2.0T four-cylinder in the base F-PACE and XE is built by Jaguar Land Rover (Ingenium engine) and has proven reasonably solid. The supercharged V6 and V8 are more expensive to maintain but more rewarding to drive.
